Principal Advisor – Contracts & Procurement

We’re looking for an experienced Contracts & Procurement professional to join a major capital projects environment on an initial six-month contract based in Fortitude Valley.

This role will suit someone who knows their way around EPCM and professional services contracts and can confidently manage contracts from procurement and negotiation through to ongoing commercial management, governance and reporting.

You’ll be working across a varied portfolio that may include EPCM agreements, professional services, facilities, logistics and other project-related contracts, partnering closely with project teams, contractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders.

What you’ll be doing

• Managing commercial and contractual activities across major capital projects
• Supporting the management and governance of EPCM contracts and agreements
• Managing procurement packages, tendering, evaluations and contract negotiations
• Providing ongoing contract management across professional services, facilities and logistics agreements
• Identifying commercial risks, opportunities and contractual issues before they become problems
• Working closely with an Owner’s Team, EPCM contractors and project stakeholders
• Maintaining strong contract governance, compliance and commercial controls
• Producing meaningful commercial, contract and procurement reporting
• Using data to track performance, trends, risks and contractual outcomes, including developing and maintaining Power BI reporting
• Supporting supplier performance, logistics, freight and materials-related activities where required
• Engaging with local and international suppliers and sourcing markets

What we’re looking for
You’ll have experience across contracts, procurement or commercial management within mining, resources, infrastructure, construction or another major project environment.
Importantly, we’re looking for someone who has had hands-on experience managing EPCM contracts rather than simply working alongside them. You’ll understand the commercial structure, governance and complexities of EPCM agreements and be comfortable working between an Owner’s Team and EPCM partner.

Exposure to international sourcing and supplier engagement, particularly across China or other overseas markets, would be beneficial, as would experience supporting logistics, freight or materials coordination on large or remote projects.

This is an initial six-month contract based in Fortitude Valley, offering the opportunity to work within a large-scale capital projects environment where strong commercial thinking, contract governance and stakeholder management will be highly valued.
