Why Having GOOD References Are Crucial For IT Recruitment [Video]

Here at Sense Recruitment we actually do references before we submit a candidate to a client and there are two main reasons that we do this: The first is that a reference is a decision making tool.

It’s a third party’s account of how someone can do their job, how they work with other people, what their achievements were and what they can bring about in terms of value to an organisation.

The second, and I guess for same reasons I just listed, it’s a marketing tool for a candidate. No longer is it about what the candidate has said about what they can do – it’s someone else validating that information.

In summary, the benefit of doing references that early on in the process is that it enables Hiring Managers to make quick decisions and get talent in the door as quickly as possible; but it also enables candidates to market themselves a lot better to a role.
